Coldplay are an English rock band comprisingThe Brit rock quartet of Chris Martin (vocals/piano), Jon Buckland (guitar), Will Champion (drums), and Guy Berryman (bass) All had been playing instruments since their early teens and had been influenced by the likes of Bob Dylan, the Stone Roses, Neil Young, and My Bloody Valentine.
They formed in 1996 in London, achieving worldwide fame with their 2000 hit 'Yellow'. Their debut album 'Parachutes' reached number 1 in the UK album charts and was nominated for the Mercury Prize. There are rumours that Coldplay have begun planning their 2008 tour dates to coincide with the release of their fourth album.
The band have released a statement on their official website claiming that they are adding the finishing touches to the follow-up to 2005's X&Y.
The messages reads: "The ups and downs come thick and fast at this point in proceedings.
"One minute we’re over the moon about a new artwork idea, the next we’re all gloomy about our slow progress in designing the live show.
"We’re trying to pull all the threads together and get these songs (and all the hoopla that goes with them) ready to present to the big wide world."
According to the Daily Star, the Brian Eno-produced LP will be called Prospeckt and feature a brass band on one track.
